Our Church history

While our church is fairly young, we have a rich history and we are excited to see what God will do through the church in the future.

2006
  • Operation Biloxi Hope sends many members and friends of CCC to build a home for a Hurricane Katrina victim
2005
  • Narnia Day Outreach sees many families come to party at church and “Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe” movie
  • Common Grounds Café opens providing a great place for fellowship
2004
  • Passion of Christ outreach brings over 1,000 people to the Passion Movie
  • 40 Days of Purpose campaign gets most of the church plugged into small groups and impacts the future direction and vision of the church
2003
  • South Drive property is sold
2002
  • CCC brings the magic of Andre Kole to church and fills two shows seeing many come to faith in Christ
2001
  • Providence Christian Academy moves in

2000
  • December 24 CCC holds first Worship Service in new facility as God fulfills the Vision 2000 campaign with a week to spare!
  • December 15 CCC purchases 5293 S. Lindbergh building from Concord Baptist for $1.3 million
  • Site development costs on South Drive are too high and building is put on hold
  • CCC partners to plant Covenant Bible Church in Farmington, MO

1999
  • “Cornerstone: Building in Faith” campaign is launched & by October has $353,330 in 3-year pledge

1995
  • Will Avenue house project provides money for church building

1994
  • AWANA program is launched
  • Church launches “Vision 2000” campaign with the goal of having a church building by the year 2000.

1993
  • Worship Team concept started
  • Oakville Baptist Church merges with CCC & we gain 25 new members.
  • The Evangelical Free Church Mission changes its church planting strategy and uses our Craiova, Romania church plant as its model

1992
  • Church moves from Washington Jr. High to Washington Lutheran School on September 1st
  • Church attempts to purchase a building on Telegraph Road but, surprisingly at the time, God does not lead in this direction. It would take eight more years before we fully understood why God shut this door.
  • Core Values and Vision Statement are rewritten to reflect God’s vision for the ministry.

1991
  • South Drive property is paid in full
  • First Evangelical Free Church of Craiova, Romania official begins holding church services.

1990
  • CCC sends a pastor to Craiova to follow up with many new Christians and plant a new church
  • With communism falling in Eastern Europe the church sends a team to Craiova, Romania to share the gospel

1989
  • CCC purchases property on South Drive with plans to build a church building
  • 1st "Growth Group" is started and the stage is set for small groups being an integral part of discipleship in the church

1988
  • 1st Family Camp is held at Pinecrest Camp
  • Church is launched with 1st service on April 17 at Washington Junior High

1987

  • First Evangelical Free Church has a vision for starting a new church in south St. Louis County and calls Kent Wagner as the founding pastor
