Sermon Notes for Breaking Rules, Bearing Fruit (Luke 13:10-21) (12/6/2009)

Week of December 6

Small Group Questions

1.     In what ways can you glorify God for the redemption you have in Jesus? How will you do so during the Christmas season?

2.     In what way(s) can you glorify God for the redemption you have in Jesus?  How will you do so during the Christmas season?  How do we foster this in the next generation so that on December 26 our children are more ready to answer "What has Jesus done for you" than "What did Santa bring you?"

3.     What are some of the "unwritten" rules you've seen prevent Christians from bearing fruit?  How have you experienced them personally and/or in the church?

4.     Contrast these with some of the necessary scriptural prohibitions/regulations that allow us to bear fruit.

5.     How did the Christ-like living (fruit bearing) of the early church result in the spread of the Gospel?  Is a changed life enough, or does spreading the Gospel require verbal sharing of the Gospel?  How do the Christ-like life and the preached Word go together?  What will this look like in your home/workplace/network?
